Sinerga and the Environment

We follow the requirements of ISO 14001 (Environment Management System) on several fronts:

  • Monitoring of consumption: in 2022, also following the global scenario on energy supplies, we launched an efficiency project, starting with an in-depth energy diagnosis of the consumption of electricity, methane gas and water. We have therefore started a program of progressive replacement of the current lamps with led lamps, the replacement of some “energy-consuming” devices and the modification of the systems in order to reduce energy consumption and optimize their use.
  • Efficient use of hydro-resources: in 2019 we introduced a new internal washing technology of our mixing plants, passing from a filling washing to a high pressure jet washing by means of "orbital divospheres".
  • Waste Management: we recycle all "non dangerous" waste; the management of "dangerous waste" respect a special traceability system named SISTRI (traceability system created in 2009 by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and the Safeguard of Sea and Territory).
  • Reduction Reuse Recycling: in 2022 we launched a waste reduction plan, introducing on an experimental basis the use of plastic containers and pallets, instead of disposable materials, to be reused for the internal handling of materials; we have converted the use of 30 m3 roll-off containers for the collection of paper and cardboard with a compactor capable of reducing the volume generated by the waste by about one fifth, consequently reducing the number of road transports for the delivery of waste; we have improved the division of the industrial mix by separating clean plastic (stretch film and defective and obsolete primary packaging) in order to send it to recycling
  • Choice of suppliers: our supply chain is designed by respecting the European regulations in the enviromental field. We favor the collaboration with certified suppliers whose plants are punctually audited in order to verify their conformity.
  • RSPO certification: Sinerga has joined the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) organization for the use of selected raw materials, with the aim of promoting the growth and use of sustainable palm oil products through credible global standards and stakeholder involvement

 

Our care for the reduction of the environmental impact is evident in our new manufacturing site in Gorla Maggiore (VA), where all the processes respects the main eco-compatibility regulations. Every procedure is in compliance with the regulatory of “Parco del Medio Olona”, the park in which our plant is located.
